Washington seems to be the place to be these days. Yesterday, another major U.S. Corporation announced it is moving to the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
Northrop Grumman, the huge defense contractor, is moving its headquarters from Los Angeles to somewhere in the D.C. area by 2011, according to the Jacksonville Business Journal. The final location for their new headquarters is not yet set as the company is considering potential sites in Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.
In terms of Virginia, Arlington County is trying to make the case for the company to expand its existing Washington office, now located in Rosslyn in the old USA Today towers, according to the article. The piece went on to say that while Fairfax County did not comment for the article, the Tysons Corner to Dulles Corridor is a logical choice and more likely than Arlington.
Other recent big name companies who moved to the area include Hilton Hotels and SAIC.
