Well he may not be George Bailey and the bank's a little different than the old Building and Loan, but McLean does have it's own personal banker. His name is Peter Fitzgerald and he is a former U.S. Senator from Illinois. Back in 2007, after serving one term as a Senator, Fitzgerald launched Chain Bridge Bank, which is located in the heart of McLean Center.
Fitzgerald was profiled in today's Chicago Tribune about the bank he began "just in time for the credit crunch, housing bust and recession that flattened the financial industry," notes the paper. He is a sound and conservative banker, however, and "his timing turned out to be a boon, largely because he adheres to practices that would have held him back in the go-go years, but proved ideal for economic Armageddon."
It's nice to know local banks can still survive these days, especially new ones. Maybe all it takes is some good old fashion values and a little help from a Guardian Angel!
