It's difficult to visualize now with all the construction but plans for an area know as "Tysons West" are now being laid for when the Metro opens its doors in Tysons Corner in 2013. According to "The Breaking News Blog" featured in last week's Washington Post, plans "are underway to transform a bland stretch of office and industrial parks in Tysons Corner into a bustling arts and entertainment district with high-rise corporate and residential buildings, restaurants and boutiques."
A local McLean developer, according to the Blog, is planning "Tysons' first transit-oriented neighborhood" to coincide with one of the 4 Tysons Corner Silver Line Metro Stops. "The proposed development is a 28-acre residential, office and retail complex centered around the Tysons West stop at Leesburg Pike and Spring Hill Road."
One only has to look at areas like Courthouse and Ballston in Arlington to see how the Metro can transform an area.
